Receiving. Where incoming goods is received, checked and labeled.
Put-away. Placing the received goods in storage, in a way that makes picking efficient.
Storage. Designing the warehouse in a way that is space-effienct and process-effiecient.
Picking. Automated or manual picking of orders, B2B or directly to consumer.
Packing. Packing the picked items in boxes, safely and with as little air as possible
Shipping. Transferring the packed boxes to transport company and checking them out.

To the consumer, warehousing is a hidden part of the supply chain, but non the less very important. Warehousing generates huge costs, in space, equipment, and people, and being efficient in your warehouse operations is crucial for the bottom line.
