HAPPY PROGRAMMERS’ DAY!
Today is International Programmers’ Day and we want to celebrate all great programmers out there!

Here’s some background to the day.
International Programmers’ Day was launched in 2007 to honor programmers. It is the 256th day of the year because “256” (28) is the number of distinct values that can be represented with an 8-bit byte, and 256 is the highest power of 2 that is less than 365, the number of days in a year. Perhaps this is total nonsense to you but to all programmers this makes perfect sense.

We wanted to know more about our programmers’ at Consafe Logistics and how they will celebrate this special day. We talked to Anne Qvarford and Sören Kennerberg at our HQ in Lund.

Developers at Consafe Logistics

Anne Qvarfordh

What role do you have at Consafe Logistics?
I am a developer within the group that develops standard solutions in our WMS system. The system is run by many different customers and the parts of the system that are common to all these customers are what we call Standard.

How long have you been working at Consafe?
One year

What are you working on right now?
I am part of a project where we will try to streamline the procedures when packing an order.
In addition, all in the group I belong to are continuously working on error reports and changes that affect the parts that are in Standard.

What’s the most fun thing about your job?
I learn new things every day, so it never gets boring.
Many of my colleagues have worked at the company for a long time, so it is always easy to get help when you are new.
There is a very positive atmosphere in the company.

How will you celebrate programmer day?
I love the princess cake – so I will treat myself to a piece tonight after work 😉!
