In a strategic move to meet the growing demands of e-commerce, Farmasiet, the leading online pharmacy retailer in Norway, invested in a state-of-the-art automated warehouse. The company selected Consafe Logistics as its warehouse management system (WMS) provider.
Collaborating with Consafe Logistics, Farmasiet aims to boost the efficiency of its newly automated warehouse in Vestby. The facility is currently handling an impressive 12-21K order lines per day, serving a loyal base of e-commerce customers.
A Swift Response to Customer Needs
Farmasiet’s overarching objective in this investment was to enhance customer experience and provide Norwegians with a secure, fast, and 24/7 shopping journey. The need to keep pace with their rapid growth made time a critical factor in Farmasiet’s decision-making process. Consequently, the primary concern for the company was the project's timeframe and the quality of the WMS solution.
In November 2022, the online pharmacy retailer selected Consafe Logistics’ warehouse management system, Astro WMS®, and the cooperation began. Both parties worked closely together to navigate the complex project, which involved creating a flawless system integration between the WMS and a highly automated and robust warehouse picking and sorting solution. The new WMS went live in the facility on 24 September 2023, just 10 months after the project’s initiation.
The WMS software, serving as the 'brain' of the 7,000 sqm warehouse, seamlessly connects with the ERP, TMS, automation, and pharmacy systems. Additionally, it effectively streamlines both manual and automated processes, optimizing operations for Farmasiet.
